Recap

Westfields 0

Worcester City 1 – Evans

Westfields were beaten 1-0 by Worcester City last night in the quarter final of the Marsh Hellenic League Cup when a second minute goal by Keanu Evans gave the all conquering Worcester City side a passage into the semi finals.

Worcester can count themselves a little lucky against a never say die Westfields side who gave a hard working non stop performance but could not break down the big Worcester City defence.

Westfields had appeals for a second half penalty turned down and Raphael Oppong had a golden chance to equalise but his low shot was saved by the Worcester keeper.

Westfields too had to defend well and teenage keeper Finlay Croft in the Westfields goal made two smart saves and skipper Joel Edwards lead the team well against the highly rated visitors as Westfields lost 1-0 to the 2nd minute goal.

On Saturday Westfields travel to Tuffley Rovers in the Hellenic League Premier Division then on Tuesday return to allpay.park for a home league match with Slimbridge Kick off 7-45pm.
