Westfields honoured former Manager Bobby Wynne with a minutes silence before the game then performed a nonstop hard working performance to give themselves a valuable 3 points with a convincing 3-0 home win over visiting Wantage Town.

Former manager Bobby  Wynne was a regular visitor to allpay.park this season and was present for Westfields last home win a few weeks ago against Roman Glass St George as the improved form under new manager Scott Russell continued.

Westfields looked impressive from the start as they forced several corners which were scrambled clear before Westfields keeper Zeke Vivian made 2 brilliant full length saves to keep the scores blank before Westfields scored twice in quick succession before the break.

Westfields snatched the lead when skipper Adam Wakely pounced on a hesitating Wantage defence to shoot  past Reese Thomas in the Wantage goal and put Westfields ahead in the 40th minute then two minutes before the break Westfields doubled their score when Ollie Barns headed home an Archie Muirhead corner to give Westfields a 2-0 lead at the interval.

After the break Wantage came back at Westfields and Zeke Vivian made two impressive saves to stop the visitors pulling a goal back  before Westfields increased their lead when dangerman Archie Muirhead was sent sprawling in the visitors  penalty area and a penalty was awarded and Ollie Barnes put Westfields 3-0 ahead from the spot in the 61st minute.

Westfields looked to increase their lead but it was Westfields keeper Vivian who again excelled with a flying save to keep the visitors score line blank.

Westfields sent on all 5 substitutes to give the youngsters experience as Westfields ended full value with a convincing 3-0 home win over Wantage Town.

Westfields are at HOME again next Saturday in their Pre Christmas fixture when they host Brimscombe and Thrupp 3pm at allpay.park.
