Westfields paraded 5 new signings on Saturday against Mangotsfield United and the new boys brought in by Manager Scott Russell produced the best performance of the season and ran out 3-0 winners with a tremendous second half performance which had the home supporters on their feet to clap the side off the pitch.

Westfields introduced former FA Cup favourite Kerion Blackburn in goal and he kept a clean sheet while fans favourite Dan Stoneman rejoined Westfields from Cribbs . Mason Godsell was introduced into midfield from neighbours Hereford Lads Club And twin strikers Tom Stokes and Isaac Richards joined from Merthyr and Richards was on the score sheet.

After a closely contested first half the sides went in goalless but Westfields started the second half well and a good move down the right ended with a ball into the Mangotsfield penalty area and leading goalscorer Oli Barnes riffled home a terrific shot to put Westfields ahead.

This signalled a confidant spell for Westfields and soon after substitute Isaac Richards weaved his way into the penalty area and curled a low shot into the bottom corner of the Mangotsfield net to put Westfields 2-0 ahead.

The visitors then came back at Westfields but Blackburn produced 2 brave saves to keep the visitors at bay.

Westfields made the points safe when man of the match Cam Davies ghosted in to side foot home a Mason Godsall cross as Westfields took their chances well.

Mangotsfield still came back at Westfields but skipper Kane Kahaki marshalled the Westfields defence superbly as Westfields bagged a 3-0 home win and 3 valuable league points.

Next Saturday Westfields travel to promotion hopefuls Roman Glass St George.
