WESTFIELDS SLAM 8 IN CUP TIE

Westfields raced through to the next round of the HFA County Senior Challenge Cup last night with a clinical 8-0 home win over Hereford Premier Division league leaders Malvern Town Reserves.

Westfields, the current cup holders, raced into a 2-0 interval lead when Aidan Thomas and Richard Greaves scored the first-half goals.

Malvern lost their keeper Charlie Weaver with a first-half injury but the sub keeper performed admirably in the second half but could not prevent Westfields scoring six times as Aidan Thomas completed his hat trick with 2 second-half goals and sub Cameron Peters’ 2 along with a Joe Bates header and a good strike from Keanu Cooper completed the rout.

Westfields now go back to Hellenic League duty with a trip to Ardley United on Saturday in a bid for a league double.
