Westfields Complete League Double

Westfields completed a Hellenic League double over visiting Lydney Town on Tuesday with a sound 2-0 home win to lift them up into 4th position in the Table.

A goal in each half from man of the match Archie Muirhead gave Westfields their 11th league win of the season in front of 146 home fans.

Westfields got off to a great start when Muirhead beat 2 Lydney Town defenders before hitting a fierce left foot shot past the visitors’ keeper.

Lydney tried hard to get back into the game but found Joel Edwards in top form at the heart of the Westfields defence.

After the break Westfields got the vital second goal in the 75th minute when Muirhead again sidestepped 2 tackles and finished with a fierce drive into the roof of the net to give Westfields a fine 2-0 home win and 3 valuable points.
