WESTFIELDS BEATEN BY RIVALS

Westfields suffered a 3-1 home defeat to local rivals Hereford Pegasus in the Hellenic League Premier Division when the two sides clashed at Allpay Park on Saturday.

Westfields and Hereford Pegasus both finished with 10 men after Westfields skipper, Joel Edwards was sent off in the 25th minute, while Pegasus lost Jordan Williamson late in the game.

Hereford Pegasus got full revenge for the HFA County Cup Final defeat by Westfields at the end of last season by racing into a 3-0 interval lead with goals from former Westfields strikers, Josh Hunt and Carlos Moreira, while Jordan Williamson grabbed the other to give Pegasus a commanding 3-0 lead.

After the break, Westfields with 10 men came more into the game and Cam Davies headed home a Stoneman corner, then Sean Powell headed against the Pegasus crossbar before substitute, Teddy Mee could have pulled back further goals back but failed to beat the Pegasus Keeper.

At the other end, Jack Oxenham (in the Westfields goal) twice made great saves to prevent Pegasus extending their lead, but Westfields were guilty of poor finishing in the second half.
