Westfields Go Down To Quick Fire Goals

Westfields new look young side managed by Scott Russell and assistant Dan Chance saw their home debuts suffer a 3-0 home defeat by visiting Corsham Town when the visitors hit Westfields with 3 goals in the space of 5 minutes at allpay.park.

In the opening first half Westfields had defended superbly for 40 minutes with skipper Kane Kahaki marshalling the Westfields defence well and debut keeper Zeke Vivian performing well on his first appearance 41st  minute Dan Demkiv  got on the end of a left wing cross to side foot the visitors ahead after Westfields had done so well to keep the title chasers at bay.

But then in the 45th minute Corsham were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Westfields penalty area and May Jones gave Zeke Vivian no change from 20 yards out to put Corsham 2-0 ahead, then moments later on the half time whistle Jones put Corsham into an unsalable lead with a 3rd goal  to send the visitors into the interval with a flattering lead.

After the break Westfields gave a non stop hard working performance with Kane Kahaki and Paul Hurrell outstanding and Vivian in the Westfields goal twice making good saves to keep Corsham at bay as the title chasers looked to build on their first half lead.

Westfields Sent on sub Sam Griffiths in an effort to pull back a goal but the big Corsham defence stood firm to run out winners from that 3 goal salvo 5 minutes before the interval.

Westfields are home again this Saturday when they entertain Fairford Town at allpay.park 3pm.
