Alvechurch 1 – Willock

Westfields beaten with last kick

Westfields opened up their Home pre season Friendlies with a narrow 1-0 defeat at allpay, park when visiting Alvechurch from the southern League Premier Division scored in the last seconds to win 1-0.

Westfields had picked up 4 victories away from home in their warm up programme and had defended so well for the game when Shay Willock ghosted in to snatch a dramatic 93rd minute winner after Westfields had performed well throughout the game with Kane Kahaki in superb form at the heart of the Westfields defence.

Westfields had only a few goalscoring opportunities as both Harrison Summers and Harry Pitman both went close .

Visiting Alvechurch had the better of the goalscoring opportunities but were twice foiled by Westfields trialist keeper Paul Briggs and also Sean Powell who cleared a goalbound effort off the Westfields goal line before Visiting Alvechurch snatched the last gasp winner through Shay Willock, who got on the end of a through ball to slot home the only goal of the game with a low shot.

Westfields now play in the HFA Invitation Trophy Final on Thursday at allpay.park kick off 7-45pm when Welsh Premier Division side Cardiff Met are the visitors .

On Saturday Westfields are also at home to Boldmere St Michaels kick off 3pm in another pre season Friendly .
