Westfields 7 – Wakeley, Hunt 3, Muirhead, Stoneman 2

WESTFIELDS IN SEVENTH HEAVEN

Westfields recorded their best win in the Hellenic League Premier Division when they smashed in 7 goals in an emphatic demolishing of Tuffley Rovers.

Westfields were in dominant mood from only the 4th minute when Adam Wakely volleyed home a Sean Powell throw in .

Westfields were causing problems to the Tuffley defence with wingers Archie Muirhead and Dan Stoneman in sparkling form and Westfields increased their lead in the 16th minute when Stoneman and Joe Davies set up a chance for Josh Hunt who turned smartly in the penalty area and beat the Tuffley keeper with a low drive to put Westfields 2-0 ahead .

Westfields kept up relentless pressure and on the stroke of half time Steve Davies put a superb cross into the Tuffley penalty area and Josh Hunt dived to powerfully head home a picture goal and send Westfields 3-0 in at the interval.

After the break it was much the same story as Westfields carried on their attacking game and man of the match Josh Hunt got his hat-trick when he fired home powerfully from outside the box to put Westfields 4-0 ahead and this was soon followed by Archie Muirhead who got himself on the score sheet with a low drive from 12 yards as Westfields went 5-0 ahead.  Dan Stoneman who had tormented the Tuffley Rovers defence all afternoon then grabbed a 6th goal with a fine shot from an acute angle and then in the dying minutes Stoneman grabbed a 7th goal to cap a fine individual performance when he beat 3 defenders and shot low into the Tuffley net to make it an overwhelming 7-0 away victory to maintain Westfields’ 4th place in the Hellenic League Table .

Westfields now have 2 home matches this week with Tuesday ,Westfields playing Sporting Club Inkberrow in the HFA County Challenge Cup then on Saturday are home to Chipping Sodbury, kick off 3pm at allpay.park .
