Recap

Slimbridge 3  – Thomas, Hitchings, Neill

Westfields 2 – Cassell, Pitman

Westfields suffered a 3-2 away Hellenic league defeat at Slimbridge on Friday when after leading 2-1 with 90 minuets played Westfields conceded 2 injury time goals and returned home pointless.

Westfields had recovered after Marley Thomas had given the Gloucestershire side an early lead and should have been level on a number occasions but Harrison Summers Kyle Cassell and Dan Stoneman  all failed to convert good chances until in the 40th minute Stoneman created a chance for Cassell to score from close range before on the stroke of half time Harry Pitman put Westfields ahead again after good approach play.

In the second half Westfields could not break down the Slimbridge defence and with the minutes ticking away Westfields were looking to hold on to their slender lead when the home side brought on their substitutes and this signalled a change in the game as Slimbridge headed in the equaliser in the 91 minute and then deep in injury time they grabbed a dramatic winner to take all the points with a late 3-2 win.

Westfields now meet Worcester City on Tuesday night at allpay Park in a Home Hellenic Floodlit League Cup Tie then on Saturday Westfields face in form Hereford Pegasus at allpay.park kick off 3pm in a Hellenic League Premier Division game.
