Pershore Town 2 – Nicole, Durne

Westfields 3 – C.Davies, Barnes, Williams

Westfields travelled to Pershore Town on Saturday and gained a fine 3-2 away win to give them a revenge win over the Worcestershire side ,who had won 2-1 at allpay.park earlier in the season.

Westfields had to work hard for their victory and the new twin pairing at the heart of the Westfields defence Cam Davies and Brandon Jennings gave an inspirational performance.

Pershore Town took the lead in the 8th minute when they broke up a Westfields attack and moved effectively up field through the Westfields defence and Toby Nicole rounded Keiron Blackburn to fire Pershore ahead.

Westfields came back into the game and both Dan Stoneman and Archie Muirhead went close before Westfields drew level when Cam Davies headed home a Stoneman free kick.

After the break Westfields got off to a great start when Oli Barnes headed home a Muirhead corner to put Westfields 2-1 ahead in the 52nd minute.

Westfields battled hard but the home side began to get back into the game and only superb defending by Jennings and Cam Davies prevented an equaliser.

Westfields then increased their lead in the 75th minute when after Pershore only partially cleared a corner, the ball fell invitingly for substitute Luke Williams and he hit the ball into the top corner of the net off the underside of the crossbar.

Westfields were subjected to constant pressure from Pershore and they pulled a goalback when Oli Durne was on the spot to turn the ball over the line to bring Pershore back into the game in the 82nd minute.

Pershore then threw everything forward and Westfields defended superbly and Kerion Blackburn did well to take a high cross,  then Brandon Jennings headed clear to ease the pressure as Westfields ran out 3-2 winners.
