WESTFIELDS BOW OUT OF LEAGUE CUP

Westfields were beaten away on Saturday 3-1 in the Hellenic League Cup by local rivals Malvern Town.

Westfields got off to the worst possible start when Malvern took a first minute lead from the penalty spot after Paul Hurrell was adjudged to have handled.

Westfields slowly got back into the game but could not beat former keeper Keiron Blackburn in the Malvern goal.  After the break Malvern scored 2 quick goals to give them a 3-0 lead before Dan Stoneman got a late consolation goal for Westfields.

This defeat sees Westfields now moved to the Supplementary league cup and they meet FC Stratford at allpay.park on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
