Recap

Longlevens 1 – Chamberlain

Westfields 1- Barnes

Westfields completed the season as they started with a-point from a 1-1 away draw at Longlevens last night in a game they should have won comfortably over a lowly home side.

Westfields had started the season with a 3-3 home Draw with Cinderford  Town and last night they could have finished with a win but squandered a host of first half chances and had to settle for a point from a hardworking 1-1 Draw.

Westfields first chance fell to Zac Powell who shot wide when through on goal but Westfields eventually took a 26th minute lead when Powell was brought down in the Longlevens penalty box and Oli Barnes put Westfields 1-0 ahead from the penalty spot.

Westfields then had 3 great opportunities to build a comfortable half time lead but Dan Stoneman and Harrison Summers both wasted great chances with wild finishing which were way off target.

Then right on half time Longlevens equalised when Jacob Chamberlain headed home a left wing corner to put the two sides level.

After the break Longlevens stepped up their game and with the Westfields defence in which Cam Davies was superb kept them at bay.

Westfields then had a shot from Barnes cleared off the line and again Summers blazed over the bar when a goal seemed certain.

Then in the dying stages Dan Stoneman had a great drive well saved by the home keeper as Westfields had to finish the season with a point but the second half of the season and a new management team has been very encouraging to give great optimism for the new season in August.
