Recap

Hereford Pegasus 2 – Iddles, Cooper

Westfields 1 – Cox

Westfields made the short journey to local rivals Hereford Pegasus and suffered a narrow 2-1 Hellenic Premier Division defeat which put Hereford Pegasus clear at the top of the league in a match where Westfields should have taken something from the game.

Westfields went into an 8th minute lead when Cawley Cox got on the end of a through ball and slammed home from 12 yards, then they had strong appeals for a penalty turned down as Westfields put Hereford Pegasus Under early pressure.

Westfields had a couple of half chances to increase the lead before Hereford Pegasus equalised in the 38th when former Westfields midfield dynamo Harrison Iddles headed home a left wing cross.

After the break Keiron Blackburn brilliantly saved a Pegasus penalty but the league leaders snatched the lead when a misplaced pass by Ben Brookes was seized upon and moved up field to lsaac Cooper who beat Blackburn with a low drive to put Pegasus into a 2-1 lead.

Westfields were in the game and Brandon Jennings hit the post with an effort and Mason Godsall fired high and wide when well placed.

Westfields put on Muirhead and Summers in a bid to pull back an equaliser but the Pegasus defence, well marshalled by ex Westfields skipper Sam Rawlings, held firm to keep the league leaders 2 points clear at the top.

On Friday night  Westfields travel to  Lydney Town for a league game in an effort to end their 6 match run without a win.
