Westfields 4 – Greaves 2, Cooper, Peters

FIELDS MOVE ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TO RETAINING THE HFA SENIOR CUP

Westfields progressed to the semi-finals of the HFA cup with a comfortable 4-0 win at the rearranged Quarterfinal match at Bromyard on Tuesday.

Manager Phil Glover made eight changes to the starting line up that had beaten Burnham some 10 days previously. Coming into the side were Craig Jones with a most welcome return & a starting 90 minutes for Keanu Cooper recovering from illness & injury. Also Fields gave a full start to under 18s regular Henry Hancocks & former Hereford FC & Hartbury College student Sid Grant was back in a Westfields shirt since returning to Hereford.

Young Grant was in action as early as the 2^nd minute when a fine cross from the right found Richard Greaves & the Fields prolific striker was on hand to settle any early nerves & put Fields 1 up.

Bromyard were not overwhelmed by the higher graded opposition & went close to equalising in the 10^th minute with Ian Havard in the Westfields goal pulling off a nice save.

Richard Greaves had a couple of further chances but put the team 2 up in the 33^rd minute following some great work from Billy Murphy.

The start of the 2^nd half saw Kane Kahaki replace Ryan Green. Craig Jones was unlucky not to have increased the lead following two great efforts in the 47^th & 52^nd minutes.

Keanu Cooper added a third goal with a fantastic strike in the 83^rd minute.

Cameron Peters was brought into the action when coming on for Sid Grant & in the final few minutes scored Westfields’ 4^th following a magnificent pass from Billy Murphy.

Westfields now play Hereford Pegasus on the 31st March @ Old School lane for a place in the final against either Hereford Lads club or Wellington.
