Bradford Town 0
Westfields 3 – Pincher o.g., Newbury, Wakley
Westfields completed their Away Hellenic League Premier Division Fixtures in style with a fine 3-0 Away win at Bradford Town on Easter Monday in a win which could relegate the Wiltshire club who stand rooted to the foot of the Table.
However Bradford put up a stubborn defence for the opening 40 minutes as both Dan Stoneman and Kyle Cassell had efforts cleared.
However, just before the interval Dan Stoneman played Steve Davies in to a good position and his fierce drive was turned into his own net by Bradford defender Jordan Pincher to give Westfields a 1-0 half time lead .
After the break Westfields began to get on top and Stoneman and Matt McDonald looked impressive in build up play.
Westfields increased their lead when Adam Newbury got free just outside the penalty area and let fly with a great drive into the roof of the net to put Westfields 2-0 up on the hour.
Westfields moved the ball around well and Sean Powell caught the eye down the left flank for the visitors, then in the 70 minute Westfields scored again when Adam Wakely got in behind the Bradford defence to score a fine solo goal to give Westfields a 3-0 lead .
Bradford twice had chances to get back into the game but skipper Sam Rawlings was in commanding form alongside Joe Davies as Westfields went on to record a comfortable away victory on their last away trip of the season .
Next Saturday 15 April Westfields bring the curtain down on the last home Hellenic League game of the season when promotion hopefuls Corsham Town visit Allpay.park kick off 3pm .
Westfields will hold a minutes silence before the game in memory of former joint manager Clive Harris who along with Sean Edwards guided Westfields to the West Midland Premier Division Championship in 2002/3.
Sadly Clive Harris passed away last week, at his home in Bromyard.
