Westfields Football Club have signed Richard Greaves from Cinderford Town to lead their attack for the new season in the Hellenic League Premier Division.
New Westfields manager Phil Glover made the important signing by persuading Greaves to return to allpay.park where he enjoyed two seasons, leading Westfields through to the First Round of the FA Cup in their giant-killing season of 2015/2016 when he scored the winning goal against Leiston to lead them through to the televised FA Cup First Round tie with Curzon Ashton.
Greaves then went off and joined Cinderford Town where he was their leading goal-scorer last season but he has returned to sign for Westfields in their new challenge of Hellenic League football.
Westfields’ Chief Executive Andy Morris said “Phil Glover made it well known from the moment he was appointed that his first signing he wanted to make was Richard Greaves and I’m delighted that he has persuaded Richard to return to allpay.park where he was such a favourite, not only with the players but also with the fans.”
Last season Greaves led the attack at Cinderford Town and got them into the Southern League play-off position and now he intends to get Westfields hopefully into the leading pack in the new Hellenic League Premier Division.
