Roman Glass St George 2 – Davis-Wilson, Plummer
Westfields were well beaten 2-0 at home to visiting Roman Glass St George when the Bristol based visitors got revenge for the 6-3 drubbing Westfields inflicted on them away earlier in the season.
The visitors who can still win the league maintained their recent run of form and had it not been for the agility of Westfields keeper Keiron Blackburn, Westfields may have suffered a heavier defeat.
Blackburn was In superb form for the whole game and it was not until 3 minutes before half time that he was eventually beaten by a fine individual goal by Laurent Davis-Wilson who beat three Westfields defenders before beating Blackburn with a low shot to give the visitors a 1-0 half Time lead.
After the break Roman Glass St George killed the game off with a second goal when within 5 minutes of the restart Neikell Plummer swept home a right wing cross with a great finish to put the Bristol visitors 2-0 ahead.
Westfields hit back but the visitors defence were strong and gave nothing away while at the other end Keiron Blackburn made two wonder saves to keep Westfields in the game.
Roman Glass began to open up the Westfields defence and Blackburn was equal to anything they threw at him as Plummer was denied another goal with a point blank save from Blackburn in the Westfields goal.
Westfields now play Tuesday at Cirencester in the first leg of the Wiseman Floodlit Cup Final before they return to Allpay Park on Tuesday 1st April kick off 7-45pm for the 2nd leg of the Final.
Also this Saturday Westfields are at home to Royal Wootton Bassett Town at allpay.park kick off 3pm in a Hellenic League match.
