Westfields and promotion hopefulls Mangotsfield United fought out a 0-0 Draw at allpay.park on Saturday when play off placed Mangotsfield put up a stubborn defence as Westfields did enough to have built up a first half lead.

In the second half it was a superb goalkeeping display by Westfields custodian Keiron Blackburn who made a string of fine saves to prevent the visitors taking all the points as they began to open up Westfields rear guard and cause problems from corner kicks.

In the first half Westfields had the better openings but both Ben Brookes and Zac Powell failed to capitalise on good opportunities while skipper Brandon Jennings sent a free kick over the bar.

After the break Blackburn saved brilliantly at the foot of the post then the Westfields keeper saved low on the goal line as Mangotsfield seemed certain to break the deadlock.

As the game swung from end end both sides looked to break the deadlock and secure the 3 vital points but the stalemate continued as Westfields gained a home point from a hard working non stop performance and extended their unbeaten League run to four games.

On Tuesday Westfields travel to play Worcester United at Malvern in the HFA County Senior Challenge Cup ,then on Saturday travel to Roman Glass St George for an important Hellenic League Premier Division game.
