Recap

Westfields 5 – Stoneman, Jennings, Davies 2, Cox

Highworth Town 1 – Cheetham

Westfields turned in a 5 star performance with a resounding 5-1 home win over visiting Highworth Town to earn 3 valuable Hellenic League points to put them into good form ready for the Christmas fixtures.

Highworth Town were sat nicely in a play off position but were swept aside by a scintillating first half performance by Westfields who raced into a 4-0 interval lead.

Westfields used the big allpay.park pitch to good effect and Dan Stoneman fired Westfields ahead in the 20th minute then he laid on the pass for skipper Brandon Jennings to make it 2-0 on the half hour.

Stoneman then laid on a chance for Nathan Davies to put Westfields 3-0 before leading goalscorer Cawley Cox scored a fine solo goal to put Westfields 4-0 ahead just before the half time whistle.

After the break the visitors came back into the game and pulled a goal back on the hour through Matt Cheetham and then enjoyed a good spell but could not break down a well organised Westfields defence.

Westfields restored their 4 goal advantage when Cawley Cox got free down the right and put over a pin point cross and man of the match Nathan Davies raced in to slam home his second goal of the game to secure a resounding 5-1 home league win.

Westfields visit Cirencester Town on Saturday 3pm.
