JOSH PUTS WESTFIELDS IN HUNT

Westfields’ striker Josh Hunt scored twice against visiting Hallen on Saturday to lead Westfields to a 5-2 home win over bottom of the table Hallen and move Westfields up to 8th in the league table with a convincing victory at allpay.park on Saturday.

Westfields have a great chance to challenge the title chasers as they now meet Fairford Town at allpay.park on Saturday, then league leaders Cribbs are at Westfields on the following Tuesday as the season hots up.

On Saturday Josh Hunt headed Westfields into a 25th minute lead and afterwards Westfields created further chances without adding to their tally as they went in 1-0 up at the interval.

After the break Westfields opened up at a cracking pace against their Bristol visitors but it was Hallen who drew level through Dan Dyke but Harrison Summers restored the Westfields lead then Matt McDonald increased the lead as he put Westfields 3-1 in front.

Substitute Cawley Cox then got his first goal for the club when he closed down the visitors’ defence, before Josh Hunt got Westfields’ 5th goal to lead 5-1 going into injury time when Hallen got a 2nd late consolation goal through Tony Blackwell.

Westfields fully deserved their home win which followed on from their 3-2 away win at Malvern Town in midweek.

Westfields now meet Fairford Town at home on Saturday.
