Fairford Town 2 – Holliday 2

Westfields gave a battling performance in a 2-2 Draw with visitors Fairford Town at allpay Park tonight when the Hereford side hit back twice to earn a point against the play off chasing visitors.

Fairford got off to a great start when Charlie Holliday put them ahead with only 5 minutes on the clock.

Westfields were under early pressure and Keiron Blackburn saved brilliantly again from Holliday before Westfields drew level when Ryan Hillier shot through a crowded goalmouth to give Westfields a lift at 1-1.

However, the visitors were in front again within a minute when the powerful Charlie Holliday beat Blackburn with a fierce drive to give the visitors a 2-1 interval lead.

After the break Blackburn made an important save within a minute of the restart when he save a certain goal when Holliday was clean through on goal.

Gradually Westfields got into their stride and Ryan Hillier blasted in an equaliser from 15 yards to put the sides level at 2-2 with70 minutes gone.

Westfields were battling well and both Stoneman and Zac Powell had shots blocked as Westfields went all out for the winner.

Fairford too had their moments but Westfields defender Cam Davies twice made timely clearances as Westfields deserved their hard earned point.

On Saturday Westfields entertain League leaders Hartpury University at Allpay.park kick off 3pm in a Hellenic League Premier Division game.
