Westfields 1 – Stoneman

Cirencester Town 3 – Gabriel 2, Bell

Westfields went down 3-1 at home to Cirencester Town in the second leg of the Wiseman Floodlit Cup to give Cirencester a 5-3 Aggregate Cup Final win at allpay Park in front of a bumper crowd of 235.

Westfields who gave a tremendous second half display but were continuously foiled by the agility of Cirencester keeper Ronnie Newbury who pulled of a series of brilliant saves to deny Westfields.

Westfields were hit by 2 early goals from Ross Gabriel who opened the scoring from close range in the 13th  minute then he put Cirencester Town into a 2-0 interval lead with a towering header in the 18th minute.

Westfields hit back before the interval and Ben Brooks had a goal disallowed for off side.

After the break Newbury in the visitors goal saved brilliantly from Cam Davies and substitute Zac Powell before Cirencester put the issue beyond doubt when Finlay Bell beat Kerion Blackburn with a rising shot from 20 yards to give the visitors  a 3-0 lead on the night.

Westfields still kept the cup final alive when Dan Stoneman scored with a 20 yard free kick to set up an on slaught from Westfields but Newbury in the Cirencester goal produced match winning saves to deny Westfields in the later stages.

Cirencester Town were presented with the Wiseman Floodlit Cup by Hellenic League Chairman Bill Beach And Secretary Ian Hamilton.
