Stonehouse Town 0
Westfields 3 – Brooks, Jennings, Godsall
Westfields went through to the Hellenic Wiseman Floodlit Cup Semi Final with a convincing 3-0 away win at Stonehouse Town last night.
Westfields overcame a difficult away tie over their Gloucestershire hosts who had knocked out Hereford Pegasus in the previous round.
Westfields played in confident mood throughout the 90 minutes and fully deserved their Semi Final spot with a polished performance in which they never allowed a chance to put teenage keeper Shay Sterry under any pressure.
Westfields broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when Ben Brooks took a pass from Dan Stoneman and planted a low shot past the Stonehouse keeper to put Westfields 1-0 up at the break.
After the interval Westfields got off to the perfect start when Brandon Jennings headed home a Dan Stoneman free kick to put Westfields 2-0 ahead.
Westfields were working hard as Stonehouse Town tried to get back into the game but Westfields put the result beyond doubt when a fine four man move resulted in Mason Godsall hitting a great 20 yard shot into the roof of the net to put Westfields into the Semi Final-with a comfortable performance.
