Sporting Club Inkberrow 2 – Guy, Pugsley

Westfields 1 – Stoneman

Westfields were beaten away 2-1 by promotion chasing Sporting Inkberrow who hit back from being 1-0 down at the break to win 2-1 after Westfields had been reduced to 10 men due to full back Sam Hunt being sent off with only 20 minutes left to play following a second yellow card.

Westfields had taken a 1-0 interval lead through Dan Stoneman who fired an unstoppable shoot into the roof of the net in the 25th minute. Earlier in the first half Zac Powell had a great chance to open the scoring but he shot wide from six yards.

Stoneman was causing problems to the Inkberrow defence and put over a superb cross but no Westfields striker was hand to convert the cross.

After the break Westfields kept the home side at bay with Keiron Blackburn in top form but in the 70th minute disaster struck when Sam Hunt received his second yellow card and Westfields were reduced to 10 men.

This was the lift that Inkberrow needed and within 5 minutes they were level when they headed home at the far post.

Westfields then lost George Clark with a head injury and this too was exploited as Inkberrow snatched a second goal when the home striker got in-between Blackburn and Drew Heffernan to prod home the winner.

Westfields mounted a late rally but the damage had been done with the sending off of Sam Hunt which clearly changed the flow of the game.

Next Saturday Westfields are at home to Thornbury Town at allpay.park 3pm.
