Corsham Town 0

Westfields 3 – Powell, Brooks, Davies

Westfields recorded one of their best results of the season with a fine 3-0 away win at play off side Corsham Town on Saturday when Westfields visited the Wiltshire club and turned in an impressive display to come home with the 3 points and hoist themselves up into 8th position in the Hellenic Premier Division.

Westfields got off to a dream start when Cawley Cox slipped a lovely through ball to Zac Powell who took the ball in his stride and blasted Westfields ahead with a powerful finish.

Westfields were causing the Corsham defence problems and Cox and Dan Stoneman were thwarted by the the home keeper Louis Smith who produced brilliant saves.

When the lively Corsham attack got through they found Cam Davies at the heart of the Westfields defence in top form.

Just on half time Ben Brooks hit another goal bound effort which again the Corsham keeper did well to keep out as Westfields  went in 1-0 ahead at the break.

After the interval Westfields increased their lead when from a corner kick Cawley Cox was fouled and from the spot kick Ben Brooks put Westfields 2-0 ahead with a great finish.

Westfields were playing some flowing football and substitutes Archie Muirhead and Nathan Davies added extra pace in the later stages of the game.

Westfields finished the game in style when in the 90th minute Mason Godsall sent in a pin point corner kick and Cam Davies rose to powerfully head home a 3rd Westfields goal to complete a fine team performance.

Next Saturday Westfields are at home to Brimscombe and Thrupp Kick off 3pm at allpay.park
