Westfields suffered a 1-0 away defeat to promotion hopefulls Highworth Town on Saturday when following Tuesday’s 1-0 home defeat to Sporting Inkberrow their trip to Highworth Town met with the same disappointing result.

Westfields gave a hardworking performance but were beaten by a 12th minute goal when Luke Whellan got on the end of a defence splitting pass and coolly beat the advancing Keiron Blackburn for what was the match winning goal.

Westfields had chances to draw level when both Dan Stoneman and Isaac Richards had opportunities before the break to put Westfields level at the interval.

After the interval Westfields gained the upper hand but the Highworth Town defence stood firm to keep out efforts from Archie Muirhead and Nathan Davies and Cawley Cox lead the line well in search of an equaliser but it was Westfields man of the match Cam Davies who prevented Highworth Town extending their lead with 2 tremendous last ditch tackles as the home side looked to extend their lead late in the game

On Tuesday Westfields travel to Pershore Town and on Saturday Westfields are at home  to Cirencester Town kick off 3pm allpay Park.
